Huddle Up Diaper Distribution & Lifeline Endeavor (H.U.D.D.L.E) will be the only diaper bank in Southwest Virginia, addressing the urgent need for diapers and essential baby items.

Diapers, costing $100 per month per child, constitute 15% of families' budgets. National statistics reveal that 28% of Virginia families skip meals to afford diapers, and 1/3 of Southwest VA families endure diaper poverty. While resources like WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) aid with formula, there's a lack of programs for diaper assistance.

Many Roanoke families teeter on the poverty line and are ineligible for government aid. Traditionally, non-profits and diaper banks bridge this gap, but currently Roanoke lacks this resource, leaving over 700,000 residents over 2 hours from the nearest diaper bank.

Our current Support Shop assists over 125 mothers monthly, but the need far surpasses our capacity. To meet this demand, HUM is hoping to raise $120,000 for an initial bulk diaper purchase, association fees, one year of storage/facility capacity, and shelving.

Establishing the Southwest VA Diaper Bank ensures universal access, safeguarding the well-being of our vulnerable residents.
